Russell Harris spent most of his life on the family farm and ranch in eastern New Mexico and later moved to Canyon, Texas in 2004. He began working with leather when he was in 4H as a youngster and has never stopped. He is known for his amazing tooling and his ability to create intricate and unique pieces of leather that some might even consider to be art. This ability has come from tooling thousands of hours and also studying and taking classes from other great leather craftsmen such as: Jeremiah Watt, Cary Schwarz, Bob Parks, Britt Nantz, Don Gonzales and many others. Russ is continually striving to make whatever he is crafting better than the last project and enjoys the  challenge of designing and making something one of a kind.

Trenton is husband to Lauren and Dad to two beautiful daughters and has recently moved to Amarillo to manage Coolhorse Leather Shop. His introduction to the leather industry began in high school building gun holsters and then evolved into a passion and appreciation for all aspects of leather. This includes building some of the toughest ranch strap goods and leggings for working cowboys that you have ever seen to finely tooled belts, watch bands, & wallets. Trenton studies other leather craftsman’s work from names such as: Don Gonzales, Terry Henson, and Dustin Loftis. If Trenton isn’t in the leather shop, you’ll find him outside doing chores or in the roping pen.
