This snaffle bit should be a top choice when using a twisted snaffle. The combination of the slightly weighted ring with a ⅜” twisted snaffle makes this bit perfectly balanced for training and every day riding. The weight of the ring increases feel for both the horse and rider, giving the horse pre-signals to rein cues and providing clearer communication. Copper tastes sour to the horse (similar to a green apple) and will increase salivation. This makes the bit more comfortable for the horse and leads to a relaxed jaw and acceptance of the bit. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use. Mullen relief is used on all our snaffle mouthpieces which is a forward curve that creates even pressure across the bars and tongue to eliminate the nutcracker effect.
